Adelphi’s annual Poetry Day was celebrated on April 12th, 2024. The event welcomed high school students from the area to attend workshops taught by faculty, and receive awards for their writing at the end of the day! Long Beach High School is proud to announce that eight of the ten awards given, were awarded to Long Beach Students from the Talented Writers program.

Citation in Poetry was awarded to Kate Ragona, who is in the ninth grade, for the poem The Climate Clock. Citation in Poetry was awarded to Shea Rehnback, in eleventh grade, for the poem Rocks. Citation in Poetry was awarded to Ana Ramirez Angulo, in the twelfth grade, for the poem 4:30 Morning. Citation in Poetry was awarded to Emily Feil, in the twelfth grade, for the poem White Flower. Citation in Poetry was awarded to Laika Kahn, in the twelfth grade, for the poem Faith. Excellence In Poetry was awarded to Kamille Cooper, who is in the ninth grade, for the poem The Locket. Excellence In Poetry was awarded to Isabella Gonzalez, in the eleventh grade, for the poem We are Sinners. Excellence In Poetry was awarded to Ana Ramirez Angulo, in the twelfth grade, for the poem Nopichopi (Tengo Hambre). Excellence in the Teaching of Poetry was awarded to Mrs. Koegel. Congratulations to all Talented Writers students who participated in the contest!
